As one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations, the shopping on the Costa del Sol is very impressive. Spain’s premier department store, El Corte ingles, stocks everything from perfumes to furniture and has three main branches along the coast, in Malaga, Fuengirola and Puerto Banus.
Along the high streets are the usual chain stores, such as Mango and Zara but to shop under one roof, the largest three shopping malls are Miramar in Fuengirola, Plaza Mayor in Malaga and La Canada on the outskirts of Marbella. In La Canada you will even find a Marks and Spencer, an Apple Store and a Habitat.
If you like the more unusual shops then head off the main streets and explore all the little side streets, around the church square in Fuengirola will keep you busy for hours, or if heading to Marbella then venture to Orange Square. All the small alleys leading to the square are adorned with smaller boutiques and some great shoe shops! Puerto Banus houses all the designer names, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Christian Dior and they are situated in the port itself. Online shopping is also becoming more popular, Amazon and Marks and Spencer even do free delivery on most goods.
The best bargains however, can be found by visiting the local markets or by leaving the main roads and exploring the parades of smaller shops.
